Privacy laws we follow (Canada / Alberta)

ActiBookly is based in Alberta and is generally subject to Alberta’s private-sector privacy law (PIPA). Depending on how information flows (e.g., across provincial or national borders), federal privacy law (PIPEDA) may also apply.

We may collect the following: A. Information you provide • Account info: name, email, phone, password (hashed), profile details • Booking info: Activity booked, dates/times, participants (e.g., child age where relevant), preferences • Provider info: business name, credentials you upload, listing details, tax-related info if required • Communications: messages between users, customer support requests • User content: reviews, photos, uploaded media B. Payment information Payments are processed by third-party processors. ActiBookly may receive limited payment metadata (e.g., transaction IDs, last 4 digits, card brand, payout status), but full card data is typically handled by the processor. C. Automatically collected • Device and log data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamps • Approximate location (e.g., IP-based) and/or precise location if you permit it (for “near me” features) • Cookies and similar technologies for login, preferences, analytics, and fraud prevention

How we use personal information

We use information to: • Create and manage accounts • Facilitate listings, bookings, payments, refunds, and payouts • Provide customer support and resolve disputes • Improve and secure the Platform (fraud prevention, abuse detection) • Comply with legal obligations • Send service messages (receipts, booking updates) • Send marketing messages where permitted/consented (with unsubscribe options)

Consent and marketing (CASL)

When required by Canada’s anti-spam rules, we will obtain consent before sending commercial electronic messages (emails/texts that encourage participation in a commercial activity) and will include required identification and unsubscribe mechanisms.

When we share personal information

We may share information with: • Service providers (hosting, analytics, email delivery, customer support tools) • Payment processors for processing payments and payouts (e.g., Stripe/Connect) • Providers and Participants as needed to complete a booking (e.g., names, booking details, necessary safety info) • Legal/compliance: to comply with law, court orders, or to protect rights/safety • Business transfers: if we’re involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale (with appropriate protections) We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense.

International and cross-border transfers

Your information may be processed in Canada or other countries where our vendors operate. Those jurisdictions may have different privacy laws. We use contractual and security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

We retain information as long as necessary for the purposes above, including legal, accounting, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention, then delete or anonymize it when no longer needed.

The Platform is not intended for children under 13 to use directly. If an Activity involves minors, a parent/guardian should create the account and manage bookings.
